It's A New Year...

So we drove into Steamboat Springs, CO last night from Denver, arrived around 11:30PM. It's about 13 below zero.

Blake and I put on all our snow crud and some snowshoes and walked out into the field in front of the house. It's a big field on a little bit of a hill, about a 15 acre spot.

I spent the last moments of 2007 and the first of 2008 lying in 3 feet of fresh Colorado power staring up at the most brilliant star-filled sky I think I've ever seen in my life. It was one of those little moments that makes life worth living. Especially when the rednecks a mile down the road set off their fireworks and started revving the snowmobiles.

I'm going to start 2008 with one hell of a bang, four days straight skiing here in Steamboat. To the rest of you, good luck in the New Year, and I'll see y'all when the last half of school starts next week.

Peace & Love, kdawg
